After two years away, the Multimodal Exhibition, the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe’s largest annual meeting place for freight transport, logistics and supply chain management and logistics, returns to the Birmingham NEC from June 14-16. International transportation specialist Dimerco has launched a new multimodal service for supplier companies shipping high-value components to manufacturing plants in Mexico. The new Air+Road transport service enables customers to ship door-to-door from China to Mexico, via the U.S., in just 6-8 days with high security. The new Air+Road solution combines regular consolidated flights from China to LA and Dallas with a cross-border bonded trucking service where team drivers travel non-stop and only on highways to keep cargo safe.
Krone is showing their ‘all-rounder’ Box Liner container carrier on stand 1020 at this year’s MultiModal Show which, say the company, guarantees greater versatility and easier handling for operators in the UK and Ireland. The versatile Krone Box Liner, sliding-bogie skeletal trailer is designed to carry 20’,30’,40’ and 45’ containers; two boxes at once or any standard sized tank. Quick-release twist locks also ensure fast and easy handling for tough, pick-up-and-drop container work.
Descartes Systems, which is exhibiting at Multimodal on stand 7030, has helped Farsound Aviation, a prominent service provider for the world’s aerospace industry, to improve its profitability by automating compliance with U.K./EU customs regulations with the Descartes e-Customs filing solution. The use of Descartes e-Customs resulted in annual cost savings of thousands of pounds. Descartes e-Customs is a secure, web-based solution that can help filers submit the data to HMRC and other government agencies from within a concise, easy-to-use interface.
