What’s the most exciting thing about your job?

Every day there’s an opportunity for win-win relationships between our customers, our team and our shareholders – this gives me a buzz.

Who has inspired you most in your career?

Too many to name, but fundamentally good honest business people with integrity.

If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?

A folding crate – very useful but can keep out of the way when not needed…

If you had your time again, what would you do different?

Be more positive and worry less. Everything I’ve ever worried about hasn’t happened or has been overcome easily.

What’s your favourite pastime?

Working in the garden on a Saturday afternoon.

Do you play a sport, follow a sport or support a team?

Join in playing football with my two young sons.

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened in your career?

In the early days of business, driving miles to see a customer who knew a lot more about the industry than me.

What is the greatest luxury in your life?

An Indian Meal with my family.

If you won the Lottery, what would you do?

Give more money away to others in need.

What’s your dream holiday?

A long weekend in North America.

What’s your favourite music album?

Any Golden Oldies (not modern stuff that my kids like…)

What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?

Always remember how useful you are to society in Logistics. Without movement of goods, everything would grind to a halt.
