Antalis Packaging’s fast turnaround in the recommendation, supply and installation of new packaging machinery helped a British multinational chemicals company to quickly launch its hand sanitiser business.

To meet rising demand for hand sanitiser, a global manufacturer of petrochemicals and speciality chemical products opened a new dedicated production unit in the UK. Having used Antalis’ services previously, they contacted the team for advice on the packaging machinery and layout required for the packing line of their hand sanitiser business.

Antalis Packaging visited the client’s site to assess the need, including the volume of product to be packed and the area allocated to the packing process. Using this information, the Antalis machinery team configured a packaging process that would provide optimum efficiency relative to the space, number of packers, and products being packed.

The solution comprised of a Masterline 320 carton closing and sealing machine, a Lantech Q300 semi-automatic pallet wrapper, with a power pre-stretch of up to 300% and production speed of up to 25 pallets per hour, connected by a series of bespoke conveyors. Master’In power pre-stretch film was recommended for use with the Lantech Q300. The Antalis Machinery team supplied and installed the equipment, testing the configuration in situ to ensure all was running as required. Additionally, Antalis’ team are available for technical support and servicing, offering peace of mind to the client.

Mick Carless, Machinery and Systems Operations Manager at Antalis UK comments, “We welcome opportunities to design packaging processes from scratch, and this project gave our client the efficiencies that can be achieved with our equipment and the right setup. The client was keen to get production up and running as soon as possible, and we were able to help them to achieve this by responding quickly at every step, from planning the optimum layout to delivering and installing the equipment, most of which came straight from our stock.”
