Caljan is delighted to welcome Derek Wright as head of the UK organisation. With more than 15 years’ intralogistics experience, Derek joins Caljan at an auspicious time.
Following decades of success as a Telescopic Conveyor manufacturer, Caljan introduced automatic document handling, labelling and automated routing solutions to the UK a few years ago. Derek’s experience with solutions will stand the business in good stead, as parcel carriers and online retailers seek help handling higher volumes of packages and parcels.
Derek Wright is excited to become part of the global Caljan organisation. He comments “Pretty much every online purchase touches Caljan equipment.” In addition to being a declaration of trust, Derek sees this as a manifestation of Caljan’s commitment to customers. Duty of Care is important to Derek. He believes that Caljan’s ability to transform customer challenges into cost-effective, future-proof solutions is key to growing the business.
After his comprehensive onboarding process, Derek sums up “Caljan appears to be a very addictive business. Everyone on the team is willing and ready to go the extra mile.” Pushing the boundaries is an inherent part of Derek’s DNA. “Delivering consistently at a high level can give way to complacency. We need to constantly question our best practices.” Derek sees change as an opportunity to improve; on a personal level — and as a business.
