What products or services does your company offer?
We offer truly robust mounting solutions for a wide variety of essential devices. Not only phones, tablets and cameras, but fishing rods, antennas – the list is endless. If you want something mounted securely, our products can do the job. We also design and manufacture a range of military spec drop-tested device skins called the IntelliSkin®, as well as GDS® (global docking system) docks to mount and charge your devices through built in connectors within our IntelliSkin® range.
Which industries do your customers operate in?
Which industries don’t our customers operate in might be an easier question! We provide mounts to vital sectors such as the emergency services, logistics and agriculture, but also for the marine sector, aviation, power sports, assistive technology and everything in between.
Do you have any examples of a project you have recently completed?
We have a large project to mount phones in London buses, used in combination with a custom app to perform multiple point inspection checks before and after journeys.
How did the Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent lockdown affect your business?
At first there was concern over a potential decrease in orders due to the sheer uncertainty at the start of the UK’s first lockdown, but as we provide such vital services to many industries that were still operating at a normal or slightly reduced capacity, we have managed to thrive and it’s been business as usual.
Is your business back to normal following the Covid-19 outbreak?
As normal as one could imagine. We have many members of staff working from home but thanks to the wonders of modern technology we have managed to maintain the core functioning of the business.
Going forward, will the industry be permanently changed as a result of Covid-19 or will it return to how it was pre-Covid?
There will inevitably be some long term changes, for example one of our biggest areas of marketing and networking is trade shows, so with the absence of such events and a restructuring of budget and time going forward there will certainly be a shift in the way we operate, but for how long we do not know.
What products or services will you be introducing in the next year?
RAM® are always introducing new products and solutions. With the release of the new Tab Active3 device, RAM® UK will be promoting and launching the new range of cradles for that device.
In what areas are you making technological advances?
The aim with our range of GDS® charging docks, cradles and our IntelliSkin® products is to help streamline the workflow within multiple industries. With these products, businesses will be able to significantly extend the life of their devices and organise their infrastructure like never before.
What is the company’s commitment to social responsibility?
Our main goal is to consistently provide truly useful products and services to those that need them the most. We strive to help bring technology safely into vehicles and working environments to aid productivity and efficiency in many vital industries around the world.
Will you be investing in your premises over the next 12 months?
Over the years we’ve had ongoing commitments to expansion both with office / warehouse space and within our team.
We’re committed to providing our staff and visitors with a clean, safe working environment and as 2021 progresses, when our staff return to the office we will continue to pursue these aims.
What industries do you believe offer your business the most potential over the next year?
Fleet management & public transport.
How future proof is your business?
We’re fortunate that we provide a world-class product with a lifetime warranty. There are lots of cheaper competitors on the market, but recently more than ever we have realised our customers’ priorities are in buying products that simply last for the long-term. As we provide mounts to businesses that are currently both booming and essential such as the emergency services and fleet delivery vehicles, our company and products are indeed future proof.
Will you be exhibiting at any major trade shows over the next year?
We regularly have a busy schedule of trade shows each year and we are committed to attending them all so long as the events are able to go ahead and in a safe manner. We have many booked and hopefully we’re able to attend them.
