Abbey Chemicals are the latest recipients of a state-of-the-art TOSA pallet wrapping machine from YPS, leaders in flexible packaging solutions.
As the go-to distributor for fine and bulk chemicals in the UK, Abbey Chemicals supply a huge range of products for many applications and industries, including disinfectants, water treatments, emulsifiers, food ingredients, battery acids and fuel additives. Since their incorporation in 2013, the company estimate that they have distributed over 33,230 tonnes of chemical product and that at any one time they have over 1,000 pallets of product in stock ready to satisfy any requirement. To service this large-scale demand, Abbey Chemicals operate three separate warehouses across Great Yarmouth, two of which have housed TOSA stretch wrapping equipment for several years delivering impressive results. Looking to match these results for the final site, specifically with another TOSA machine, Abbey Chemicals contacted YPS who are official agents of the premium Italian manufacturer.
In June, YPS supplied a TOSA automatic pallet wrapping machine featuring a turntable diameter of 1650mm, which was slightly larger than their existing models, in order that the largest pallets of chemical containers measuring 1000mm x1200mm could be accommodated. With an intelligent colour touchscreen, the machine allows for easy programming of wrapping cycles and intuitive operator controls and includes a loading ramp as standard for smoother movement of pallets at a position that suits the warehouse footprint. For total peace of mind, YPS included a complimentary service contract that also covered Abbey Chemicals’ existing stretch wrapping equipment as well as an extended two-year warranty. As a result, the depot is now rivalling the efficiency and capacity of its two sister sites pallet for pallet.
