Global leader in protective packaging solutions, Sealed Air, has launched a new series of paper void-fill and cushioning packaging machines, giving it the most comprehensive range of plastic and paper solutions on the market.

The addition of five new machines within the SEALED AIR® Brand Paper Systems series means the company can now offer a full range of recyclable, reusable and cost-effective packaging solutions to those customers who are demanding paper options.

Driven by global calls for packaging which is both sustainable and effective, Sealed Air’s new range includes both paper void-fill and paper cushioning packaging machines. These will join Sealed Air’s popular plastic-based protective packaging solutions to provide customers with a complete choice of substrate options.

Eric van der Kallen, Portfolio Manager at Sealed Air, said: “Paper packaging is a fast-growing space and while we are well known for providing plastic packaging solutions, we wanted to ensure we could provide the broadest range of packaging products to suit all customers’ sustainability needs.”

Working with customers to ensure that sustainability is understood in its widest sense, Sealed Air reviews each customer enquiry to identify whether or not paper is the best answer to their packaging needs.

“In the rush to meet the consumer demand for sustainable packaging, we have seen some paper solutions lead to higher product damage rates, increases in overall packaging used and equipment downtime. All of these have a significant impact on a business’s efficiency and environmental footprint,” said Eric.

“We use our expertise in designing and testing packaging applications to deliver the best overall packaging performance for each customer and, if paper is the right solution, we now have the product range to deliver this.”

The newly launched machines have increased the SEALED AIR® Brand Paper Systems range to a total of seven machines.

Five paper void-fill machine models are designed to fit around any shape and type of product, offering a highly protective packaging solution by helping to minimise product movement during transit.

In addition, two paper cushioning systems provide protective block and bracing, using wrapping and coiling methods to effectively package and protect light, heavy and sharp products.

Eric said: “Customers may not have considered Sealed Air for paper-based packaging solutions in the past, but, with these new products, our paper solutions can be seamlessly integrated into operations.

“With our expanded portfolio, we can now offer sustainable packaging solutions across paper and plastic substrates, which suit everyone from small businesses to large industrial operations. And all our systems are designed to grow as each business develops and changes.”
