Warehouse operators will agree that flooring is one of the most important investments they have to make. Attempts to cut corners on flooring maintenance often end up costing more in the long run. This year, Covid-19 has challenged the availability of flooring contractors but the industry is making every effort to maintain normal services. In a statement, the Association of Concrete Industrial Flooring Contractors (ACIFC) has said it has strong business continuity measures in place and is confident that as it adapts to the new norm, the service it provides members will not, and has not been adversely affected, despite the obvious challenges right now. Throughout this pandemic, ACIFC has taken the necessary steps to ensure the safety of its members. This included postponing meetings and rescheduling them, where possible, to video conferences. The Association is continuing to monitor Covid-19 as it develops and will continue to support members through this difficult time by providing accurate and up to date information.

Establishing a European supply chain will be key to growth post-Brexit, according to Keith Aldrich, Contracts & Procurement Director for mezzanine floor supplier, MiTek Mezzanine Systems. Many British exporters that currently do not have supply chain operations in Europe are seeking to establish them, while those that already have them – like MiTek Mezzanine Systems – are bolstering their networks and partnerships in preparation for Brexit. It was the need to mitigate supply chain and exchange rate risk that led the company to establish MiTek Mezzanine Systems GmbH in Cologne, at the heart of Europe, back in 2017.

ASG Services provided line marking solutions for Ocado’s fourth Customer Fulfilment Centre which opened last year in London. Warehouse line marking provides powerful visual segregation for pedestrians and is a visual guide to maximise storage areas. The line marking is sufficiently durable to withstand the most aggressive warehouse vehicle traffic and to retain long-term visual integrity.

CG Flooring Systems refurbished the floor slab for a client which is a world leader in the manufacturing of the latest diecasting and toolmaking facilities and is taking on a new warehouse facility in Hellaby, South Yorkshire. The agreed solution was to carry out floor repairs and apply CoGri High Build (HB) Solvent Free Epoxy Coating with a quartz aggregate broadcast between coats. This provides a durable, chemical resistant, surface finish with antislip properties to meet the Client’s requirements. A variety of floor repairs including joint arris edge re-build and the removal of old racking bolts were completed using CoGri Arris Repair Mortar and CoGri LV Resin.
