ELOKON, the supplier of safety and assistance systems for intralogistics, was planning to present a number of innovations for its proximity detection and warning system ELOshield at LogiMAT. Due to the cancellation of the show, the ELOKON Group will be sharing its news via online channels. More detailed information is available at www.logimat.elokon.de

ELOKON’s first wearable:

Following the introduction of its smart vest concept last year, ELOKON now has a commercially available version. This first wearable from the Tornesch based intralogistic specialist is designed to work with its ELOshield product – a mobile driver assistance system which warns personnel of danger and prevents collisions between industrial vehicles. The vest not only enhances safety for employees when working in the vicinity of forklifts, AGVs and cobots, but also offers maximum comfort and unhampered mobility. The technology integrated into this intelligent and connected piece of workwear alerts pedestrians of potential danger optically, acoustically and by vibration when vehicles are approaching. The ELOKON vest is made of lightweight soft shell material for a high level of comfort and comes in a range of sizes to ensure a perfect fit for all members of the workforce.

New, smaller and lighter ELOshield pedestrian modules for even more flexibility

A new smaller and lighter version of the ELOshield pedestrian module was also planned to be exhibited at LogiMAT. ELOKON now offers two separate pedestrian modules. These feature powerful batteries and communicate by radio with the ELOshield modules fitted to forklifts or industrial vehicles. The pedestrian modules emit acoustic and vibration warnings when they enter a warning zone or are dangerously close to moving vehicles. They also flash to warn of impending danger.

The new pedestrian modules, which will work alongside existing modules, are particularly compact: weighing just either 110g or 140g, they are similar in size to a mobile phone. The choice of which version fits your application comes down to the length of battery time required: the smaller one-shift module will work for around 12 hours on one charge, and the slightly larger two-shift module has a capacity of around 20 hours.
