The Automated Material Handling Systems Association (AMHSA) will be promoting the latest in warehouse automation at IMHX 2019.

With 8 of the world’s top 12 system integrators being members of AMHSA, the trade association is uniquely placed to showcase the leading edge of the logistics industry. And with 36 of AMHSA’s 56 members exhibiting at IMHX, the exhibition is a great place to find out about automated handling solutions and potential suppliers.

IMHX will once again feature the AMHSA Pavilion, where all visitors can benefit from the ‘Meet the Experts’ seminar programme, covering a range of logistics automation topics. Automation will also feature in the seminars held in the show’s Technology Solutions Forum, where the latest developments in robotics, AI and other emerging technologies will be presented through real-life case studies.

Commented Dave Berridge, AMHSA Secretary, “Driven by need for speed and accuracy in growing e-com operations, labour shortages and the increasing desire to harness the potential of digitalization, the appetite for logistics automation today is unprecedented. IMHX is the ideal platform for companies interested in investing in automation to find the right solution for their needs.”

Order picking feature area

AMHSA will also host a ‘Picking Through the Ages’ feature area, where visitors can experience the evolution of order picking from its paper-based origins, through pick-to-light technology, to automated mobile robots and vision-enabled solutions.

Skills Zone

AMHSA will also be involved in the Skills Zone at IMHX. The association – in partnership with Toyota UK, with which AMHSA collaborates to offer its own apprenticeship programme – will promote its apprenticeship scheme, with apprentices on hand to chat to young visitors about training and logistics career options. There will also be ‘Meet the Apprentice’ presentations, as well as ‘Meet the Employer’ sessions, as part of AMHSA’s ‘Meet the Experts’ seminar series in the AMHSA pavilion.

Sustainability

Reflecting consumer trends – particularly the attitudes of Generation Z – AMHSA will also be placing the spotlight on sustainability through a panel discussion at IMHX. This will highlight the ways in which logistics automation can help reduce carbon footprint and the positive impact of this on brand reputation.
