Talent in Logistics – working in partnership with UniCarriers UK – will use the IMHX exhibition to host their first ever live Forklift Operator Challenge.

Visitors to stand 6B190 will go head-to-head with a skilled opponent, and compete against them by demonstrating a high level of skill and accuracy. Nominees must be a qualified counterbalance lift truck operator and proof will need to be provided on the day in order to take part.

Ruth Edwards, Business Manager at Talent in Logistics says: “Forklift operators have a challenging role and don’t tend to get highly recognised for their hard work, which is why we want to celebrate these individuals and encourage them to continue their efforts.

“With UniCarriers as official sponsors of the Forklift Operator of the Year category at the 2019 Talent in Logistics Awards it seemed a perfect fit to continue our partnership by working together to host this unique challenge, which will also encourage future operators to enter our 2020 competition.”

Chris Bates, Sales Director at UniCarriers UK, comments “We are expecting that creating a dynamic event at IMHX will not only provide visual interest for those visiting the show, but the added element of competition should make this a vibrant spectacle. I hope all those who book a space to enter the competition, will bring supporters and colleagues to cheer them on as well.

“The Talent in Logistics team always create visually intriguing driver challenges that test the competitor’s skills from the very start. UniCarriers will provide each entrant with a truck familiarisation session before they compete, so they have every chance performing at their best.”

The challenge is open from Tuesday 24th September to Friday 27th September. Participants can sign up on stand 6A180 with the UniCarriers team.

As well as the live Forklift Operator Challenge, the Talent in Logistics team will also be on stand TL12 promoting their 2020 annual conference and awards ceremony, launching an exciting new product and looking for new opportunities to work collaboratively with organisations to offer resources, knowledge and best practice to industry.

Finally, on Wednesday 25th September, Business Manager Ruth will be speaking in the Skills Zone discussing how organisations can attract and retain talent through employee engagement.
