Members of the Fortec Distribution Network who have given an outstanding contribution over the past 12 months were rewarded for their efforts in the company’s annual awards ceremony.

Some 160 guests from Fortec’s 84- strong national network of members attended the event, held at Whittlebury Hall in Towcester, Northamptonshire where they were entertained by comedian Bobby Davro, casino and a live band. Now in its 15th year, the ceremony featured six award presentations.

Wyvern Cargo, based in Poole, Dorset, and Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, won the award for Outstanding Operations – based on the highest service levels, lowest number of damages and the most consistent service.

Team C, based in Thetford, Norfolk, won the Commercial Excellence Award, based on its business performance last year. London-based LHT Logistics was named the network’s Health and Safety Champion, based on its safety record in the network and voted for by the members.

Brocklehurst Transport, won the Above and Beyond award, while Billingham-based Devereux Developments was presented with the first Russ Devereux Depot of the Year Award, named in memory of the company’s Managing Director who sadly passed away earlier this year.

It was the fourth consecutive year the company had been named Depot of the Year while other previous accolades for Devereux include Commercial Contribution and Customer Service awards. Kerry Lightfoot, Lead Traffic Office Admin, was presented with an Individual Achievement Award.

A number of members also received long service awards in recognition of their time with Fortec. These included Devon-based W L Vallance (20 years), four members celebrating 15 years with Fortec and another four with 10 years of service.

Craig Johnson, Business Unit Director of Fortec, said the popular annual ceremony provided the perfect opportunity to reward just some of the many members who work tirelessly to uphold Fortec’s ethos of delivering an unrivalled service.
