ELOKON’s safety system ELOshield has been shortlisted by the U.S based Material Handling Institute (MHI) as an Innovation Award Finalist for the “Best Innovation of an Existing Product“ the winners of which will be announced during the MODEX trade fair which takes place in Atlanta from April 9th – 12th. MHI received over 110 submissions from show exhibitors, only four of which have been chosen as finalists for each of the three categories.
ELOshield is an ultra-wideband warning and proximity detection system which creates protective shields around personnel and forklifts to reduce the risk of accidents and greatly enhance safety in the warehouse. It automatically detects the presence of personnel when they enter the danger zone around a forklift and can also be used for collision prevention between forklifts, or – in a fixed zone version – for monitoring danger zones such as intersections with a high level of internal traffic. The new extended version of ELOshield, which will be making its world premiere as well as its MODEX debut in Atlanta, combines individual products which together constitute an intelligent all-in-one solution.
MHI is an international trade association that has represented the material handling, logistics and supply chain industry since 1945 and the Innovation Award highlights the latest developments in supply chain technology and services, focusing on solutions that provide “quantifiable and sustainable results in terms of ROI, cost savings and customer satisfaction.”
“To be one of the ‘chosen twelve’ is a great endorsement for ELOKON in general and for ELOshield in particular”, said ELOKON MD Alexander Glasmacher. “The fact that the judges are leading names in the industry further underlines the increasingly important role our products play in the sector to ensure the highest levels of safety – in the warehouse and for the workforce”.
ELOshield already has one accolade under its belt: it was awarded the runner up prize in the “Quality and Safety” category of the German handling Awards. And another ELOKON product – its ELOprotect safety system, recently won the Safety Category in this year’s FLTA Awards.
