Antalis is pressing ahead with ambitious expansion plans for its packaging division with the hire of new Packaging Director, David Hope.

Reporting to David Hunter, regional managing director for UK, Ireland and South Africa, David will oversee the strategic direction and development of the packaging division in order to enhance the sales strategy, create new business opportunities and, in turn, drive increased revenue and profit to achieve the channel’s vast growth plans. He will also assume responsibility in the UK and Ireland business as a member of the Executive Committee.

David brings with him a wealth of experience of working for national distributors, along with an extraordinary track record for delivering strategic sales growth. Most recently, working in the position of sales and marketing director at SIG, a leading European distributor of building products where he was based for over a decade, David drove a £800 million turnover. Prior to this, he worked in senior roles at CRH, a building materials group, and CELSA Group, one of Europe’s leading steel suppliers.

Drawing on his 20-plus years’ experience in delivering growth for multi-brand distributors, David hopes to double the size of Antalis Packaging over the next five years.

Commenting on his new role, David says: “The packaging industry is an abundant one which continues to see successive growth in line with the global retail market. I am therefore delighted to join Antalis Packaging at such an apt time and feel incredibly passionate about the opportunity to capitalise on this and generate sustainable sales growth.

“Over the next five years, the aim is to double the packaging division and become a national specialist with a strong regional presence. Core to this will be an increasingly people-centric approach; from employing a real team-focus internally through to honing our customer and manufacturer partnerships.”
