WLN – What’s the most exciting thing about your job?
The constant changes and developments, it keeps me stimulated and interested, I am not good at doing mundane.
WLN – Who’s inspired you most in your career?
Different people at different stages, Jim Rohn had a big influence on me in my younger years by making me look at myself before blaming others.
WLN – If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?
The coffee machine, I enjoy lifting people and would hear what’s really going on.
WLN – If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?
Plan more and wing it less!
WLN – What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you at work?
My trousers split down the front whilst demonstrating a karate kick to impress the girls (I was only 23)
WLN – Who or what makes you laugh?
Real life, it can be taken too seriously
WLN – Do you have any hidden talents?
Yes, but they are so well hidden I can’t find them.
WLN – Who would be your favourite party guest?
Margaret Thatcher.
WLN – What is the greatest luxury in your life?
Getting out in the fresh air, preferably by the sea.
WLN – What is your favourite guilty pleasure?
Searching Auto Trader for exotic cars.
WLN – Do you have any secret ambitions?
To write a book.
WLN – What’s your dream holiday destination?
I would love to trek around Hudson’s Bay in winter but I don’t think my wife will go for that.
WLN – What are your three favourite movies of all time?
It’s a Wonderful Life, The Blind Side and The Quiet Man.
WLN – What is your favourite book of all time?
The Bible.
WLN – What’s your favourite pastime?
Mountain biking in the Malvern Hills.
WLN – If you won the Lottery, what would you do?
Not a lot different to now.
WLN – What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?
Specialise in change and technology, focus on what you are good at and get better, and don’t worry too much about the things you cannot do, leave that to someone else.
