One of Europe’s largest combination utilities, the energy company provides electric and natural gas services to nearly 95 million residents across Western Europe and the UK. To comply with new emission standards, one of their electrical generating complexes was scheduled to go through a 24 months upgrade to bring the plant into compliance. As part of this, environmentally sensitive equipment was being brought in that needed to be covered and protected in a controlled environment – both temperature and air humidity were critical.
The energy giant called on Herchenbach to design and install a temporary building large enough to contain their sensitive equipment, and strong enough to withstand the harsh winters and rainy periods in autumn and spring. In addition, their requirement was for Herchenbach to supply a half a dozen non-insulated storage and workshop buildings. All to hire for 24 months.
In a short period of time, the customer had a spacious, efficient structure with more than 2500m2 total usable surface that perfectly fitted their needs. High-speed roller doors, push-bar emergency exit doors, LED lighting, a gutter system with down pipes and water ingress protection were also installed. With the installation of heating and ventilation systems to keep the interior of the main Herchenbach temporary building optimally controlled, their equipment could be protected and operate with maximum efficiency.
