Union Industries has helped a Scottish manufacturer keep its state-of-the-art facility free from contamination with a bespoke static curtain, which was designed and produced at its Leeds headquarters.

The Static Dividing Curtain, which is suspended by using Union’s own unique proven suspension system, is approximately 40m long with a drop of 7.3m. It’s been designed specifically to help segregate Don and Low Ltd’s manufacturing area from its warehouse, eliminating heat and dust ingress, thus allowing its specialist non-woven products to be created in an optimal environment.

Union’s bespoke Industrial Curtain system features a translucent upper section of fabric which helps to improve the light transfer efficiency in the manufacturing area – an important feature for Don and Low Ltd. The Dividing Curtain also has two PVC Strip Curtain access points for forklift trucks and pedestrian traffic.

In addition to the heat retention and contamination protection already mentioned, the curtain has helped to contain the noise of the machinery in the area, maintaining enjoyable working conditions in the adjacent warehouse area where polyolefin technical textiles are stored.

Established in 1792, Don and Low Ltd, which has been part of Thrace Group since 1999, has experienced a great deal of international success due to its reputation for quality, technology and customer service.

Nicholas Forth, Technical Sales Engineer at Union Industries, said: “Our ability to create bespoke products that meet the specific needs of clients is something we pride ourselves on – we don’t produce a ‘one size fits all’ solution and instead take the time to generate the perfect product for each of our customers.”
