IMHX will once again feature a special area for the Automated Material Handling Systems Association, in the form of the AMHSA Pavilion. Located in hall 10, this will be the prime focus for promoting logistics automation at the show.

Martin-Elliott-LogistexIn its 30th anniversary year, AMHSA will host a series of seminars to inform visitors on various aspects of automated handling and storage. These will take place in the central presentation theatre of the AMHSA Pavilion, surrounded on all sides by members’ stands. With over 30 members exhibiting – both in the AMHSA Pavilion and on larger stands around the show – automation will be well represented at IMHX 2016. Informative ‘Meet The Experts’ seminars

The AMHSA programme of informative ‘Meet The Experts’ seminars will be delivered by both guest speakers and members within the AMHSA Pavilion. These short presentations will provide visitors with insightful overviews of key topics in automated logistics such as Industry 4.0, MF/1 and the Apprenticeship Levy. After each seminar, audience members will be able to chat to the speaker and other AMHSA members in an exclusive hospitality area within the AMHSA Pavilion.

AMHSA in the Future Skills Zone AMHSA will also have a major presence in the Future Skills Zone, located in the crossover area between halls 8 and 9. In a special ‘walk-through apprenticeship experience’, AMHSA will promote its own apprenticeship scheme, which is offered in conjunction with the car manufacturer, Toyota. Explained Martin Elliott, AMHSA President, “Six AMHSA apprentices will be available to talk to visitors and the zone will also feature four hands-on activities – including ‘Rope Board Challenge’ and ‘Beat the Robot’ – that will allow visitors to experience some of the demands they typically face.” The AMHSA apprenticeship scheme, now in its second year, enables members to offer a high-quality, four-year programme. The apprentices spend the first two years learning a range of hands-on, hightech engineering skills at the state-of-the-art Toyota Academy in Burnaston, Derbyshire, and the remaining two years building on this with industryspecific skills and knowledge at the premises of the AMHSA member.
