Reznor UK is based in Folkestone and is part of Nortek Global HVAC, providing us with the opportunity to leverage the group’s resources and technical expertise in many related products and market sectors, enabling us to deliver industry leading service and support for our customer’s HVAC requirements.

WLN – As a leading supplier in the Industrial Heating category, what has the last year been like for your business? How about for the rest of your sector?

The last 12 months have definitely been challenging for the HVAC sector as a whole, however, our company has seen lots of positive changes with the Nortek Global HVAC integration playing a major part in this. As an organisation and brand, Nortek is developing into a much more unified group of operating companies, offering an increasingly broad range of products. By actively affiliating with the Nortek name, we benefit from better market recognition worldwide with many more opportunities to collaborate and cross-sell. We are now part of a $1.5 billion HVAC business with the global presence to match.

Entering the air conditioning market with the introduction of the P125 packaged air conditioning unit was a new and exciting direction for us in the UK and provided us with the potential to grow into a new market; adding a new dimension to our business.

WLN – What are your best-known products and services?

I wouldn’t say that we have a specific product that we are best known for, rather a range of energy efficient heating, cooling and ventilation products ranging from small unit heaters for use in workshops, to air rotation units for use in large logistics operations.

Our broad range allows us to perfectly match the requirements of the building and environment concerned, with our design expertise ensuring that the ideal solution is found for any given application.

WLN – What makes you the first choice supplier in your field?

Our commitment towards client satisfaction and providing end to end project support; Reznor plays a major role in project management and offers a full range of services to ensure optimum satisfaction.

Services include investigative site surveys, detailed system designs and schematic drawings, running cost and payback calculations, liaison with installation contractors, commissioning and warranty support.

WLN – What changes have you made to your core offering in the last year?

The biggest change to date within our core offering has been the introduction of the P125 packaged air conditioning units, which has spearheaded our entry into the air conditioning market.

WLN – What new products and services have you introduced?

As mentioned, we have recently released the P125 packaged air conditioning unit.

The P125 range has been developed utilising our proven engineering expertise gained during our 125 years’ experience in manufacturing class leading HVAC equipment.

To maintain comfortable conditions within a building, along with air quality and humidity, a HVAC system must be able to deal with all climatic variables. P125 units are for external use and available in three rooftop models comprising models YDSA, YDHA & YDMA and have been developed with these factors in mind.

WLN – What industries are your customers in?

We service many areas of industry, offering a wide range of solutions for many applications, both for new build and refurbishment projects, including manufacturing, logistics, commercial, public sector, leisure, retail and transport.

WLN – How do your products and services help customers become more efficient, greener or work safer?

With the constant threat of ever increasing energy prices, the pressure to increase energy efficiency has never been greater.

Our mission is to develop and supply systems that deliver tangible whole life energy and cost savings. Short term, lower cost solutions might seem attractive, but don’t be deceived. Although investing in more energy efficient HVAC systems may not be a popular idea for some businesses in the current economic climate, it makes tremendous sense when true value is looked at, rather than initial costs. Using the calculations provided by whole-life cost analysis, modern equipment can deliver energy savings of up to 70%, delivering a significant reduction in running costs.

In specifying a HVAC system, it is important to base requirements on output and functional needs. This allows for flexibility and perhaps more thoughtful or innovative approaches in reaching a solution, one that will fulfil needs over the system’s life. For example, it should respond to alterations in the work pattern, downsizing or expansion.

REZNOR-logoWLN – Can you tell us about some of your customers and the work you do for them?

As a leading manufacturer of HVAC products we work closely with and supply many key contractors in the UK, working alongside them to ensure that we are offering the right solutions in assisting end users such as Asda, B&Q, Harvester, BMW, ASOS, Unipart and Norwich Union to reduce their carbon footprint.

WLN -What were your company’s biggest achievements in the last 12 months?

Our biggest achievement this year is the shortlisting of our P125 packaged air conditioning unit for the HVR Awards. This product has provided us with a fantastic opportunity to enter into the air conditioning sector, creating a presence from which to build from, in a hugely competitive market.

WLN – Are you currently investing in the business, taking on staff or going into new markets or countries? If so, how’s it going?

Following investment in the energy and rail divisions and stabilisation of the construction sector within Poland, we are expanding our already well established European presence and entering this market to capitalise on the increasing requirements of the HVAC sector.

WLN -What are you doing to bring on new talent and raise skills levels in your company?

We have a “Planning for the Future” scheme which has seen us take on five apprentices who are fully sponsored by the business in terms of education and on the job training. In a highly competitive employment market, we believe work placements and internships help young people to grow and develop their skills, for careers either within our business or the wider economy.

WLN -Will you be exhibiting at any major trade shows in the coming year?

Plans are currently being drawn up to showcase the introduction of the new VRF Split Systems across a number of shows moving into 2016, so watch this space.

WLN – What other big news from Reznor can our readers look forward to reading in Warehouse & Logistics News in 2016?

In addition to the launch of our new VRF Split Systems in 2016, we will be working hard to ensure we continue to communicate effectively with our customers, ensuring they are kept fully up to date with Reznor product and service introductions and improvements.
