German Design Award 2015

Crown-MPC-3000_1

At its annual awards ceremony in Frankfurt am Main in February 2015, the German Design Council awarded Crown the German Design Award 2015 in the “Industry, Materials and Health Care” category for its QuickPick® Remote orderpicking technology. The jury explained its decision as follows: “QuickPick® Remote is the world’s first semi-automated order picker of its kind and an impressive design achievement. The lift truck itself sets a high ergonomic benchmark, but can also – and this is the truly innovative aspect – be manoeuvred from a distance using the unique remote-control glove, with laser sensors on the truck ensuring safe operation. This greatly reduces the distances drivers must walk while carrying loads, and improves productivity by up to 25 percent. A modern, dynamic-looking design reflects the visionary nature of this patented technology in every detail. An exceptionally high standard!”

GOOD DESIGN™ Award

Crown gained its fourth award for the GPC 3000 order picker with QuickPick® Remote by winning its 14th GOOD DESIGN™ Award from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. Honouring the innovative remote glove technology for order picking, the jury recognised Crown’s dedication to design that challenges traditional thinking – an approach that focuses on ideas for improving lift truck operator productivity and safety, based on a thorough understanding of the operator-forklift relationship.

FLTA Archie Awards

In November, Crown was shortlisted in two categories – Ergonomics and Innovation – of the prestigious Fork Lift Truck Association awards, known as Archies, now in their 21st year. Shortlisted in the Ergonomics Category was Crown’s SC 6000 newly launched range of three and four wheel electric counterbalance fork lift trucks; while shortlisted in the Innovation Category was Crown’s QuickPick® Remote product, recently enhanced with a variant that controls lift and lower functions. Winners will be announced at the FLTA’s Awards for Excellence dinner on 27 February 2016.

Enhanced efficiency: WT 3000 Series pallet trucks

By making more efficient use of battery capacity, the trucks now operate for up to 28 per cent longer per battery charge without impairing performance. Fewer batteryrecharging cycles increase truck availability and boost productivity while, depending on the application, smaller, lighter batteries can be used.

New: Crown C-5 Series LPG-powered lift trucks

Crown’s new gas-powered counterbalance forklifts feature a high-performance powertrain with a working life of up to 20,000 hours and up to five years’ warranty.

The Crown-built 2.4-litre industrial engine is energy-efficient, produces minimal vibration and, with the standard hill-hold function, gives easy and precise control. Up to three tonnes capacity, the C-5 delivers top performance in all weathers and over rough terrain. Low counterweight, high seat, forward operator position, angled cross braces and open-mast design deliver exceptional 360o visibility. Access 1 2 3® technology sets maximum speed limits for individual lift trucks – ideal for warehouse applications.

Crown-SC-6000-3--and-4-wheel-models

New: highly versatile SC 6000 Series electric counterbalance lift trucks

Available in three- and four-wheel variants, in 1.3 – 2.0 tonne capacities and lift heights up to 7.5 metres, the ruggedly-built SC 6000 enjoys a near-zero turning circle, unobstructed sight lines (with or without cabin) and performs a wide variety of indoor and outdoor tasks. Intelligent control system maintains a constant speed on ramps and automatically adjusts controlfunction response to differing load weights, lift heights, steering angles and travel speeds. Access 1 2 3® provides real-time, onboard diagnostics, while the BTS 1000 battery transfer system enables one person to change a battery in just three minutes.

New: smoother, quieter mast staging for reach trucks

Crown’s ESR 5200 Series reach trucks now feature a new, patent-pending ram design which precisely meters the flow of oil into the cushioning system during staging. The result is a remarkably smooth and silent transition when lifting and lowering. Even with delicate loads, the trucks can operate at full lift and lower speeds, increasing productivity and ease of use. The patented, laterally-offset, clear-view mast gives an impressively broad field of vision and the intelligent Optimised Cornering Speed (OCS) system enhances operator confidence and increases productivity.

New: Crown RT 4000 Series rider pallet trucks

Crown’s European warehouse product range was further enhanced with the launch of the new RT 4000 Series at LOGISTICA 2015 in Utrecht, Netherlands. Designed to help optimise operator performance and safety, these new rider pallet trucks are available as stand-up or sit-down models, with up to 2,000 kilograms load capacity both and travel speeds up to 12.5 km/h.

Pallet entry and exit rollers are fitted as standard, so the load arms can easily traverse pallet bottom boards regardless of whether the pallets are empty or full. Electronic steering further boosts manoeuvrability and responsiveness.

New: Crown MPC 3000 multi-purpose lift truck with high-lift mast

Capable of lifting 1,200 kg to 4.3 metres at travel speeds up to 12.5 km/h the MPC 3000 combines all the benefits of an order picker with the advantages of a counterbalance lift truck, enabling it to tackle a wide variety of tasks. High-lift mast makes it ideal for order picking, put-away, long-distance transport, replenishment and sandwich stacking.

Counterbalance design means the truck has no load arms, so it can work in close proximity to machinery, sandwich-stack 4- way pallets, and manoeuvre in tight or congested areas.
