Palletised distribution specialist Palletline is delighted to announce that it has completed a partnership with the Prince’s Trust as part of its TEAM personal development scheme.

Debbie-WyattTEAM is a 12 week programme for 16-25 year olds that are not in education employment or training (NEET). More than 70 per cent of participants go on to jobs, training or education within three months of completion.

As part of the initiative, Palletline gave 18-year-old Jordan Thomson a two week work experience placement at its headquarters which gave him a taste of work and an excellent overview of Palletline operations.

Palletline human resources manager Debbie Wyatt said: “In this very competitive job market, it can be difficult for young people to gain experience that helps them get a foothold in a career or decide on a path of learning. According to Ofsted figures, more than 1,180,000 19 to 24-year-olds fall into the NEET category which is deeply worrying.

“As an employer that is passionate about creating opportunities, we wanted to do whatever we could to help and Jordan gave us absolute conviction from the start. Despite having to cycle eight miles into work, he arrived 45 minutes early every day and got through a great deal of work during his time meaning the experience was great for us and great for him.”

Jordan said: “I really enjoyed my time at Palletline which has given me a great taste of work and really helped to build my confidence. I cannot thank Palletline and Debbie enough for the valuable experience they have given me.”

Craig McCauley, Prince’s Trust TEAM coordinator for Solihull College said: “It is fantastic to see young people moving through the TEAM programme which has a fantastic success rate because individuals gain practical skills and support as well as confidence, a sense of achievement and career focus.

“We would like to thank Palletline for partnering with us and would like to congratulate Jordan, for really getting the most out of the programme for himself.”
