A leading forklift attachment firm is bracing itself for the cold snap by helping its customers prepare for the potentially hazardous weather this winter.
Contact Attachments, based in Newtown, Mid Wales, designs and manufactures a selection of salt gritters and spreaders to ensure its diverse range of customers can cope with the freezing conditions expected in the forthcoming months.
The firm’s ‘Towable Forklift’ salt spreader, which can be connected to any vehicle with a ball hitch or towing pin connection, and has an adjustable height draw bar to suit a range of heights. As the spreader is mechanically driven rather than requiring an electrical or auxiliary connection, it is quick and easy to set up, and with a storage capacity of 190 litres, it is perfectly suited for spreading salt on large surfaces such as car parks.

The spreaders are manufactured for use with white rock salt, which provides customers with a simple and convenient solution to gritting particularly slippery and dangerous areas, at a cost-effective price.”
A Pedestrian Push salt spreader is also available, and is ideal for gritting smaller areas such as pathways and access ways. The spreader has been designed with ergonomic handles, to ensure absolute ease of use, is fitted with deflector plates to control spread pattern, and comes with a durable rain cover to protect against moisture and spillage.
