In its 25-year history, Woodland has developed a truly international business, with customers and partners all around the world. It has a network of offices in the UK and in the US, where it is C-TPAT certified, ensuring speedier cargo clearance times for US shipments.

Operating a number of specialist divisions, Woodland moves freight of all kinds on every continent. Its customer base includes many household names as well as much smaller firms.

Kevin Stevens 2013Over the years, Woodland, which remains privately-held, has won multiple prizes at the British International Freight Service Awards, including the air freight, special services and training and staff development awards.

Woodland is to celebrate the milestone with a series of events. Long-standing customers and supporters have been invited to a black tie dinner taking place in central London in September, while staff will be rewarded with a family fun day at Essex Cricket Club in August.

Woodland Group founder Kevin Stevens, who remains the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have been kind enough to give their custom and support over the last 25 years.

“We remain proud to be one of the few independent freight forwarders to offer the full range of logistics services, incorporating road, air, ocean, warehousing and much more.

“At this time of reflection, special mention must go to our early clients – many of whom, including our very first customer, remain with us today.”

Mr Stevens added: “There is no doubt that we live in uncertain, challenging times, but if we continue to do what we set out to achieve a quarter of a century ago – namely to work harder and smarter for the benefit of our customers while being easy to do business with – there is every reason to believe we will be successful for many years to come.

“We intend to remain a medium-sized player on the international forwarding scene, offering customers personal service with the backup of a global perspective. We will also continue to offer our staff a desirable and dynamic place of work.”
