GNB Industrial Power offers an extensive range of energy storage products and services including solutions for telecommunication systems, railway applications, solar energy, uninterrupted power supply, forklifts and electric vehicles. Within the UK, GNB employs a fully in-house service force offering nationwide service support. With an industry leading first time fix rate and response time, the experienced team of engineers is highly trained and works to an accepted code of practice.

GNB’s application for safecontractor accreditation was driven by the requirement for a uniform standard across the business. Andy Sheppard, GNB UK Service Manager explains the importance of the accreditation: “GNB has always had a strong commitment to upholding the highest Health and Safety standards in the industry. Gaining an independent safecontractor accreditation is testimony to our dedication, and provides peace of mind for our clients”.

John Kinge, Technical Director of safecontractor said, “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place. More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that GNB has done.”

safecontractor is applicable to most sectors although it is particularly relevant to food manufacture, property, facilities management, retail and leisure sectors, all of which are big users of contracted services. Under the safecontractor scheme, businesses undergo a vetting process which examines Health and Safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standard are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users only via a website.

Client-organisations who sign up to the scheme can access the database, enabling them to vet potential contractors. These clients agree that they will engage only those who have received accreditation. Over one hundred and seventy major nation-wide businesses, from several key sectors, have signed up to use the scheme when selecting contractors for services such as building, cleaning, maintenance, refurbishment or electrical and mechanical work.

With this new accreditation, GNB Industrial Power (UK) Limited is setting a new standard in Health and Safety management and proves once again to be the leading service organization within the energy storage sector in the UK.
