SGM Contracts LLP, a leading supplier of groundcare and garden machinery, is set to extend its headquarters to more than double the current space occupied by the business at Belleknowes Industrial Estate in Inverkeithing, Fife.

Earlier this year, SGM relocated from a smaller unit on the Estate to a refurbished 5,818 sq ft end terrace unit, providing the business with a greater workshop capacity for the company’s servicing function. Now the company has taken on an adjacent unit to serve as a showroom and a customer training centre.

The firm has agreed a deal to lease Unit 15 – a 7,150 sq ft refurbished industrial unit, on a co-terminus basis with its existing lease on unit 16, from landlord Hermes Real Estate Investment Management.

SGM Contracts LLP provides machinery hire and sales as well as servicing and parts supply to groundcare and arboriculture professionals and domestic home gardeners. With an established customer base across the UK, it has depots in Gleneagles, Rotherham and Stockport, as well as its headquarters in Fife.

Comprising a total of 22 industrial units arranged in terraced rows, Belleknowes currently has a range of tenants trading on the estate, including Kwik Fit, National Oilwell Varco, Delitalia and Plumbstore.

Belleknowes is prominently located at Junction 1 on the M90 motorway, only half a mile from the Forth Road Bridge, the new Forth crossing and 12 miles north of Edinburgh.

Formerly famed for its ship yards in the earlier part of the 20th Century, Inverkeithing has retained its reputation as an industrial hub, and remains popular with industrial occupiers who value its central location and commercial viability.

Jones Lang LaSalle and Ryden are joint agents for the Estate. Unit 7 is currently under offer, and Unit 9 comprising 3,477 sq ft is set to become available to let in September this year.
