ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems – Industrial Door and Docking Solutions UK are set to announce their key 2013/14 business sector focus in June, with distribution and logistics facilities featuring prominently for service and new projects.
Since the acquisition of Crawford Door and Docking Solutions by the ASSA ABLOY group in 2011, several operational focus areas have been identified in each calendar year, in an effort to reinforce key brand capabilities in that market. “Logistics and Distribution facilities have long been key partners to our new-product and service business” said Brian Copeland, Business Development Manager for the logistics and distribution sector in the UK, “but despite all of our experience and knowledge in the local markets, this corporate focus allows us to refine and demonstrate the truly innovative approach we have”. Crawford products are sold all across the Globe, with a presence in all major active markets, and clients in the UK are already benefitting from worldwide initiatives.
“After the Crawford Safetydock was awarded the Innovation award at the Safety and Prevention exhibition in Strasbourg, France in 2012, we have been able to offer consultation to British customers looking for safer docking operations. We’re now using first-hand experiences and feedback from our international offices to stimulate our product development here in the UK and really adding value by learning from our vast network”, he continued.
And it’s not just advanced safety features and functions on the agenda, either. The so-called “Crawford Lift-Loadhouse”, an innovative and highly-engineered double-deck trailer loading system, is meeting the needs of companies who are moving towards a fleet of large vehicles.
Electro-hydraulically powered platforms take palletised and caged goods to upper deck heights of 3m, allowing easy loading of fixed deck double-deck trailers which cannot be serviced by traditional levellers, whilst still being capable of reaching down to ground level. Consultation is provided locally by industrial solutions specialists and operators who are interested in double-deck vehicles, but are unsure of the practicalities are encouraged to contact the UK office.
