Following on from a successful dealer launch, Eqstra Industrial Equipment introduced HC Forklifts UK at the IMHX. This new company has been established to import and distribute the HC range of fork lifts manufactured by Hangcha, China’s leading forklift truck manufacturer. 
As well as announcing the arrival of a new supplier to the UK materials handling industry new lift trucks were also launched at the show. Both the XF range of IC counterbalance trucks and the A-Series four wheel electric trucks took their bow as did the new PPT20 two tonne pallet truck
The new XF series of IC counterbalance trucks includes significant upgrades over previous models. There is a choice of Okamura or MS transmission with this new range. The MS transmission option comes with an additional clutch pack plate, to improve performance on ramp work, and oil immersed brakes. Drum brakes are supplied with the Okamura transmission to ensure the right options are available to suit all applications.
Diesel engines are supplied by Yanmar with the highly regarded 4TNE92 and 98 selected, and for the gas powered trucks Nissan K21 and K25 engines are fitted.
The A-Series four wheel electric range features full Curtis AC controllers, clearview access, a UK fitted battery and a reverse handle with horn. The 2.0 to 2.5 tonne trucks are 48 volt machines while the 3.0 to 3.5 tonne trucks are 80 volt.
The PPT20 two tonne pallet truck features a high strength frame design for use in tough conditions. An AC motor and Curtis control systems contribute to the reliability and long service intervals that lead to low running costs.
These new products add to the HC range that includes IC counterbalance trucks from 1.5 to 25 tonnes capacity, a full range of electric counterbalance trucks ranging from 1.2 to 5.0 tonnes as well as a range of warehouse equipment including reach trucks, pallet stackers, power pallet trucks and tow trucks. New product development is set to extend this range further with new products already nearing production.
Since signing the deal to supply Hangcha forklifts in the UK Eqstra has moved quickly to establish a central parts facility in Corby to provide genuine Hangcha parts on demand at competitive prices backed up with highly trained staff. Nigel Martin heads up the new operation and is busy confirming supply agreements with dealers across the UK, as the ambition to establish a nationwide dealer network is coming to fruition.
