Making its UK debut on stand 19 L120 is TENSOR, GNB’s new high-power, lead-acid battery especially suited to demanding applications. TENSOR offers increased performance and running times as well as a longer operational life. This unique high power battery gives maximum economic efficiency and can give up to 18 percent increased running times.

GNB is dedicated to the development of new products within existing and emerging markets and is continually investing in new technologies such as Lithium-ion. Over the past few years the company has been working closely with several material handling OEMs and end users to develop a Lithium-ion offering. The result is a full system solution that can be tailored to a customer’s specific needs. The light-weight yet high performance battery, which is ideal for motive power applications, is available in different variations allowing GNB to provide the most bespoke Lithium-ion solution on the market. Alongside this new technology visitors to the stand will also be able to see GNB’s original battery, the Classic, and its best-in-class, Liberator Silver with Air.

The Classic is a robust and reliable battery offering businesses an economical but sound investment. The Liberator Silver with Air has been designed to considerably reduce utility expenditure with figures, based on use on a typical distribution site, showing operational savings of up to 44 percent, as well as a 26 percent reduction in CO2 emissions. A considerably reduced utility expenditure combined with a long battery life makes the Liberator Silver with Air the perfect motive power solution for the distribution industry. Visitors will be able to view this option together with the 2100 HP charger and an Aquajet topping system.

The 2100 HP is a high frequency charger with a recharge time of 8 to 12 hours, whilst the Aquajet is a fully automated topping up system which can refill an average battery with precise level control in about 15 seconds.  Used together, the Liberator Silver with Air, 2100 HP charger and Aquajet create one of the most efficient and effective systems on the market.

In addition to the Aquajet, the GNB stand will have a dedicated “Topping up area”. This will feature the Aquatrolly, a semi-automatic portable system that aids accuracy, and Aquapure which provides pure, de-ionised water for battery topping. This area will also include GNB’s purpose-designed Health and Safety Station which contains safety equipment to protect workers, as well as emergency items for use in the event of an accident.

A range of monoblocs will also be on display, including flooded grid and tubular type blocs that are perfect for pallet trucks and cleaning machines. Alternatively gel maintenance free blocs, which are ideal for use in sensitive areas such as the food manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors, will also be on stand 19 L120.

For those hazardous environments where safety is paramount, GNB’s ATEX is the ideal solution. This battery has been designed to offer the highest level of protection and the GNB team will be on hand to advise in what situations an ATEX battery would be recommended, as well as providing help and advice on other products and solutions.

“IMHX continues to grow and it is a fantastic place at which to showcase new and existing technologies. We are particularly excited to be unveiling our new TENSOR battery and Lithium-ion developments alongside our core product range,” explains Nigel Darke, Managing Director at GNB Industrial Power (UK) Limited.

“However, choosing the most suitable battery is only the beginning. Making sure the correct maintenance procedures are in place is just as vital in ensuring you get the most out of your investment. A correctly maintained battery will provide efficient operations as well as helping to prolong the life of the battery and its charger. Here at GNB we have a dedicated in-house team whose response times and expertise are second-to-none and our new fleet of larger service vans, which can carry more stock and equipment, means an increased chance of a first-time fix. Our experts will be on hand at IMHX 2013 to offer advice and support on our various service contracts to all visitors.

“Whether you are looking to maximise the lifetime of a product, increase operational savings, improve health and safety, or require a solution for a niche product, we will be able to provide you with a solution,” concludes Nigel.

As well as showcasing its extensive range of products, the GNB stand will also be home to Juta Racing’s Porsche GT3 Cup Car for the duration of the show. Its driver, 24 year old Jonas Gelzinis who is sponsored by Exide Technologies Transportation, is an up-and-coming talent who won the 2011 Porsche Carrera GB Pro-Am title and is entering the Pro category in 2013. Jonas will be on the stand each day to sign autographs and announce the winner of the daily competition – two hospitality tickets to a Porsche Carrera race meeting of your choice in 2013!

Refreshments will be available throughout the show, with a special brunch of bacon rolls on the Friday – so visitors can browse, learn and lunch!
