Whilst the Crawford name still exists, it is as a product brand, rather than a company, but becoming ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, Industrial Door and Docking Solutions has been a relatively painless transition.
The Sheffield based company have long since designed, manufactured and installed overhead sectional and high speed fabric doors, alongside a large market share in docking equipment, to industrial projects across the whole of the UK, and very little has changed on that front. “As ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems we can now genuinely say that we have every entrance covered” said Allan Stockdale, National Sales Manager in the UK, “our operation has changed very little so far as process is concerned, and by working with our colleagues in Pedestrian Door Solutions, we have tabled some truly innovative proposals covering all internal and external openings for pedestrian and industrial traffic, with almost every stage kept ‘in-house’ so to speak”.
The emergence of a true market leader in the shape of ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems is hard to dispute, with new product experts now situated across the UK and Ireland and a service network which stands at an impressive 90 dedicated engineers, making it one of the most expansive anywhere in the UK and offers 24-7 call out.
Whilst respecting the history of Crawford and it’s achievements in industry, it was after all the company which introduced overhead sectional doors to the UK back in 1957, the ASSA ABLOY era is a new dawn. Although emphasis remains on the quality which is synonymous with Crawford products, new goals are already set for sustainability, both in the direct operation and supply chain and a successful energy conversation campaign through maintenance and modernisation is underway in the UK. “We’re also firmly focused on supporting architects and design professionals and better assisting the specification process.”
