Midac SpA was formed in Italy in 1989. Since that time it has matured into a major player in the European Battery Market with its manufacturing facilities in Northern Italy. Major investments in Manufacturing Technology and the adoption of the Toyota TPS manufacturing principals have seen the factory become one of the most modern and efficient in Europe. In this process the environment has not been forgotten with the installation of a solar panel power generation system covering the factory roof. This system is used to generate power for the factory and an indication of its efficiency is that it generates sufficient power, to support a village of 350 homes housing a family of 4 in each.

Total Battery Management Ltd (TBM) was formed in the UK in 2007 to be a provider of equipment and know how for fork lift battery change and charge facilities. Since 2007 the company has grown in experience to become recognised as a major player in this market in the UK.

Over the past couple of years a relationship developed between these two companies, working on projects together in Europe. They then recognised their synergies and as a result joined forces early in 2012 to create Midac UK. This sees a “Coming of Age” for both companies in the UK Market.

The organisation now allows Midac to expand its battery technology in the UK market place whilst expanding TBM’s product offering here. The relationship also enables Midac’s other European companies to benefit from TBM’s expertise in battery room design. An operation has also been set up in Ireland. With a base in N Ireland to supply and service both Northern and Southern Ireland customers. The operation is run locally with its own stock and warehouse facility, making Midac the only battery manufacturer with a direct presence and stock holding in Ireland

Midac UK offers a full product range. This includes batteries, chargers, ancillaries and service. Midac UK has also set up a Network of Service Providers to cover the UK, recognising the importance of this aspect of the product offering in the Motive Power Market place.

In order to improve customer efficiency in addition to a complete range of standard Motive Power batteries and cells, an mf 120 range of cells and chargers is available which reduces battery watering intervals and reduces power consumption during the recharge cycle.

Battery room design and equipment supply includes a full range from simple battery change beds through to mechanised multi level battery change systems, with the use of Battery Handling Systems Inc. equipment by encompassing TBM’s current BHS dealership.

Midac will of course be showing at the 2013 IMHX Exhibition in Birmingham in March on stand 20G100.
