UK corrugated packaging manufacturer Northern Packaging has reaffirmed its commitment to the latest technology by installing a second vertical strapper from Mosca.

A fully automated Mosca KZV-121-P30 twin lance pallet press is already being used as an integral element of the production line at Northern Packaging’s Peel Lane site in Skelmersdale.

Now the company has installed a single lance KZV-111-P30 at its second site in Selby Place, Skelmersdale.

Northern Packaging has been manufacturing quality corrugated solutions since the early 1980s. Its commitment to continuous improvement was underlined by investment in a new production line in 2007.

To match the increased throughput delivered by the new line, Mosca installed the KZV-121-P30 the same year. The machine is capable of compression up to 30,000N and features two lances to give Northern Packaging optimum flexibility in its strapping operation.

Its speed and reliability have now led to Northern Packaging taking delivery of the second Mosca machine.

Managing director of Northern Packaging Phil Bunting says: “In 2007, Mosca proved the best solution for what we needed and allowed us to maximise the benefits of our new production line.

“When we identified a demand for another machine it was clear that Mosca already met all our needs, so it was a simple decision to opt for another of their machines. It is flexible, robust and easy to integrate.”

Mosca automatic vertical strapping machines are based on a modular design, offering sturdy construction and easy integration into conveyor lines. They feature top-mounted sealing heads and are particularly suitable for the automatic strapping of palletised goods.

Mosca equipment is available in the UK from its wholly owned subsidiary Mosca Direct of Cotgrave, Nottingham.
