For over 50 years the family business of George Tufts & Son Ltd have been supplying Timber, Building and Sheet Materials to the Building, DIY and Agricultural Trades throughout the Norfolk – North Suffolk and the South Lincolnshire areas. Located in the village of Bradenham situated mid-way between the market towns of Dereham, Swaffham and Watton they operate from probably the largest Builders Merchants Yard in the County.

When it came to their new Fork Lift Truck requirements, Tufts of Bradenham decided to purchase from UK company Nexen Lift Trucks. Current managing director Mr Michael Tufts and General Manager Mr Tony Valentine were unanimous in their decision to purchase the Nexen FDX25 which is designed to minimise downtime by ease of maintenance and offers enhanced driver safety and comfort with its fully floating driver cell.

Mr Tony Valentine says “Nexen being a local manufacturing company has similar values to our own with focus on Superior Customer Service and Value for Money, this has made our company Norfolks Leading Independent Family Builders Merchant and I am sure these same values will help Nexen become a major force in the Materials Handling Industry.”

The Tufts order was one of the first trucks to be manufactured at Nexen’s Lowestoft facility a distance of only 50 miles away. Nexen has the immediate capacity to produce in excess of 2,500 machines currently p.a. With its significant investment into its R & D programme and future new electric models to be produced it will provide Lowestoft with a welcome boost for employment and the local economy.
