Having achieved an important acknowledgment from its customers through all Support and Maintenance contracts being renewed and in some cases extended, 2012 has already been a productive year for SDI Group.
SDI Group now runs a full Support Service which consists of in excess of 100 distribution centers across Europe. Many international clients have shown great interest in terms of the potential support that can be offered by SDI Group through its international subsidiaries due to its local language first line support and extensive experience with a multitude of industry warehouse systems.
SDI Group Holland have been awarded another contract with A&F for extending the building in Bergen op Zoom, consisting of the implementation of another outbound sorter, extension of the conveyor system and control base software for the DC in the Netherlands.
Two new orders were recently received by SDI Group France from Decathlon (Mulliez Group); the installation of a system for Decathlon in Marseille which delivers to stores throughout South-East France and a system for Decathlon in Mulhouse, supplying stores in the East of France. These systems are the 9th and 10th European installations for this customer by SDI Group in the past 4 years.
SDI Group France completed the automated storage system for Armand Thiery last July, which is now fully up to speed. This system which includes 6 cranes and 28000 totes double deep storage positions has proved that it brings the expected advantages and capacity to the DC through which it delivers goods to SDI sorters in multi-waves operations. In addition, the picking stations associated to the mini-load for non-complete tote quantities, have shown to be capable of a capacity of 1000 items per hour where 750 where expected.
SDI Group Americas operation has seen a large order intake with projects for J C Penny, Levis, and Renner in Brazil. A project to extend the London based DC of Hobbs was recently won by SDI Group Uk.
SDI Group’s attendance earlier this year at the LogiMat exhibition in Stuttgart (Germany), as well as Logistics Link South, Esher (UK) and the SITL exhibition in Paris (France) have already had a very positive outcome for SDI Group. With visits from many prospective and existing clients benefiting from new technological developments together with the solutions offered by SDI GROUP, which as always will be based upon rationalization and cost effective operations.
SDI Group are continuing to reinforce their visibility to existing and potential customers by exhibiting at, MANUTENTION (Paris, France: 19-22 November). SDI GROUP will also be at the IMHX (Birmingham, UK: 19-22 March 2013).
2012 and 2013 are displaying continuing positive prospects on the horizon for this global company which continues to be a world leader in Design and Build for Apparel Distribution Centres.
