Demand for space at IMHX 2013 has led the show’s organisers to open another hall to expand the show by an impressive 20%. – Joint organisers, Informa Exhibitions and the British Industrial Truck Association (BITA), have been delighted with the take-up of stands for IMHX 2013. Said Rob Fisher, Director of Informa’s Materials Handling Group, “This expansion is great news for exhibitors that have already signed up, for those companies wanting to get on board and, of course, for visitors to the show. We have taken orders from a number of major players for larger stands than they had at the previous IMHX and, more importantly, we have attracted a number of companies that were not present at the last show. Together with the excellent overall level of bookings,” continued Rob Fisher, “the addition of a number of content-driven feature areas has led us to add hall 17 to next year’s event. We are very confident that bookings across the show will continue to be brisk.”
Key brands to exhibit
Taking place from 19-22 March 2013 at the NEC in Birmingham, IMHX is the undisputed leader in UK intralogistics events, with a proven track record in delivering high-quality leads and sales. The industry’s leading brands have signed up to the show as it provides them with a unique opportunity to engage with, and sell to, key supply chain professionals. The latest firms to sign up for IMHX 2013 include ASG Services, Alser, Boplan, C&G Engineering, Couzens Storage, Distrisort, Euroroll, Fronius, Logistex, Orgatex, Owens Conveyors, Palletower, Vanderlande and Woodway.
Added value
The organisers have planned a number of features that will add further appeal to the highly successful IMHX format. The Design 4 Safety competition will return, giving all 350 anticipated exhibitors the opportunity for valuable additional publicity for innovative products and services. The exclusive VIP valet parking scheme will also operate once again, allowing top executives to drive straight up to the show’s entrance, have their vehicle parked securely by a professional driver and enjoy access to the Premier Club Lounge with complimentary refreshments and Internet facilities. The AMHSA Zone, hosted by the Automated Material Handling Systems Association, will return to IMHX and will be even larger than at the 2010 show. Visitors to IMHX 2013 will also be able to benefit from an enhanced free-to-attend seminar programme, which will cover a range of hot industry topics. In addition, for the very first time, the show will feature a Skills & Apprenticeships Zone. With the logistics industry facing a skills shortage, BITA has recently launched the BITA Academy – a dedicated apprenticeship training facility operated in conjunction with City of Bristol College – in order to help find and train the next generation of engineers. By creating a Skills & Apprenticeships Zone and placing particular emphasis on this area on the Friday of the show, the organisers of IMHX 2013 aim to use the industry’s leading event to bring together enthusiastic and talented young people and the companies needing to recruit them.
IMHX
The International Materials Handling Exhibition (IMHX) is jointly owned by Informa Exhibitions and the British Industrial Truck Association (BITA). In 2010, IMHX attracted 355 exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors from virtually every industry sector including logistics, materials handling, transportation, food and drink production, retailing, pharmaceuticals, automotive, manufacturing, engineering and government. IMHX 2013 will be held at the NEC, Birmingham, from 19-22 March 2013.
