Union Industries, the UK market leading manufacturer of industrial rapid roll High Speed Doors, has assisted Jedburgh-based LS Starrett in its ongoing energy saving commitment by installing another fast acting door on the Starrett site.
The Leeds-based roller door specialist has completed the third installation of a Bulldoor at the precision tool manufacturer’s factory to help reduce energy consumption and to maintain more consistent internal building temperatures on the site.
LS Starrett is a UK manufacturer and distributor of holesaws, bandsaw blades, hacksaw blades, and frames, hand tools and precision tools. The company has an excellent reputation for producing products with a long working life and proven performance with limited downtime, maximising its customers’ return, which is the same ethos as Union Industries’, another UK manufacturer.
The latest Bulldoor was installed to replace PVC strip curtains, which were inefficient, impractical and also quite dangerous. The fast acting speed of the Bulldoor helps combat the issues surrounding temperature control. The 1.6m per second operating speed at which the Bulldoor opens, with automatic closure, helps prevent heat loss to ensure temperature fluctuation is kept to an absolute minimum and energy is saved. At the same time, allowing easy and safe access through the opening.
In common with the other doors in the range, the Bulldoor also feature Union’s highly-regarded ‘Crash-Out’ damage protection facility, which ensures that the door remains operable if the heavy duty steel composite bottom beam is hit by a vehicle.
Tom McGeachy from LS Starrett said: “We have been extremely impressed by the quality and efficiency of the Bulldoor, hence our recent third installation. Union’s high speed door has offered the perfect solution in supporting our environmental commitment by preventing heat loss and reducing our energy costs.”
Steve Moultrie, Technical Sales Engineer from Union Industries said “Our industrial rapid roll doors have gained outstanding reputation in a range of multi-purpose manufacturing and distribution environments. This recent third installation shows yet another example of exceptional service by Union Industries, which explains why approximately 70% of our annual sales come from existing customers.”
