Visitors to articulated forklift truck technology pioneer  Flexi Narrow Aisle’s stand at Multimodal 2012 will be able to see how the Flexi range of articulated fork lift trucks has been developed specifically to improve storage, handling and customer order assembly efficiency within manufacturing and logistics operations.

Flexi trucks provide a more space efficient solution by eliminating dead aisle space required by counterbalance or reach trucks. Depending on the building, this can increase usable storage space by between 25 and 50%, making handling operations significantly more efficient and significantly reducing the cost per pallet stored.

Among the Flexi range is the four-wheel, electric-powered Flexi VNA – a truck designed to offer faster, safer work cycles with optimum stability in aisles as narrow 1600mm wide.

The Flexi VNA, which can lift pallets to heights of up to 7.9 metres, is supplied as standard with treaded cushion rubber tyres for maximum traction in wet outdoor conditions, while twin front wheel drive means that the weight of the truck and the load is evenly divided between the front two tyres to further enhance traction and minimise tyre wear.

At the heart of the truck is a unique compact axle design which, combined with the Flexi VNA’s ability to truly articulate through 220 degrees, allows easy stacking in 1600m aisleways.

Since Flexi Narrow Aisle developed the first Flexi articulated truck in the1990s it has gone on to become the most popular articulated forklift truck in Europe. Over 5000 units have been sold throughout the world and over the past five years the Flexi range has been developed to cover the requirements of customers operating in hugely diverse industries.

Although Flexi Narrow Aisle’s clients are involved in the storage and handling of many different products – from foodstuffs to engine parts – they all share at least one common aim: the need to maximize efficiency within their storage operation by making the most of the space that is available.
