To keep pace with growing demand for its range of Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) storage solutions, Jungheinrich UK Ltd has appointed Ian Barclay to the VNA team within its Systems & Projects Division.

Ian has spent several years in the materials handling industry and has held senior posts with a number of leading companies. Jungheinrich customers will benefit from his broad experience and knowledge of the sector.

Steve Richmond, general manager of Jungheinrich UK Ltd’s Systems & Projects Division, comments: “As products, systems and processes become increasingly complex, it is more important than ever that we have the right people with the right range of competencies in place if we are to continue to meet the expectations of our clients.

“Ian’s appointment to our VNA team is not only a reflection of our determination to meet customer needs: his arrival also demonstrates Jungheinrich’s ongoing commitment to the development of talented people within the materials handling industry.”

Jungheinrich’s VNA range includes the EKS 210 and EKS 312 VNA order pickers. The trucks are equipped with RFID technology that enables them to be automatically guided to the right location in the right aisle at all times. Tests have shown that this feature can boost productivity within a warehouse by some 25 per cent

Ian is a keen rugby union fan and lives in Northampton with his partner and their three children.
