Advantech-DLoG, the leading international specialist in the design and manufacture of industrial PCs and in-vehicle computing solutions, introduce the latest 15inch version of its MTC series. The experts in automation solutions at Advantech-DLoG, the European market leader in terminals suited for industrial use, unveiled their newest design for mobile and stationary applications – the mobile thin client (MTC) 6/15 – at SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2011 exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany. The terminal features high product quality, durable construction, and a mix of proven and cutting edge technologies which provide highest reliability. It is suited not only for challenging applications in the area of machine data acquisition and production data acquisition but also for use in the logistics field.

Growth in Mobile Thin Clients

The industrial PC is well suited for a broad spectrum of applications in the manufacturing and automation industries and fulfils all requirements, from controlling to visualisation to monitoring applications. Moreover, the terminal is equipped with the latest technology such as CFast, which uses SATA connections to deliver very short boot times, greater performance and future-proof use in industrial applications. With the MTC 6/15, Advantech-DLoG even has something to offer in the area of energy efficiency. The terminal’s impressive 15-inch touch screen display with LED technology provides a brilliant display and application with higher contrast and stronger luminosity, as well as extremely low energy usage. In addition, the display is very tough and especially durable when it comes to mechanical impact and wear. The terminal is also energy efficient, thanks to its new Intel Atom processor and special component design which features an efficiency factor of 90% due to a uniquely developed internal power supply.

What Counts: Individually Configurable

As with all of its industrial PCs, Advantech-DLoG also features individual configuration for its latest model. For example the MTC 6/15 is available with different operating systems such as Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows XP Embedded, or Windows XP Professional. In addition, Advantech-DLoG also offers a wide variety of accessories, such as keyboards, antennas, scanners or Voice-Kit ready. The latest is a hand microphone that is connected to the terminal and simplifies communication for the user. Voice transmission takes place via the WLAN using the included communications technology. Thanks to simple handling, for example, forklift drivers can manage their everyday tasks more efficiently by using short lines of communication.

The WLAN diversity antenna is available for warehouses equipped with WLAN, because high shelves and massive building supports often cause strong attenuation and reflection of radio waves. The space diversity MTC 6/15 antenna provides a solution and creates a secure, reliable data connection. Advantech-DLoG even offers an extensive range of fastening options, depending on field of application.

“With the new mobile thin client MTC 6/15, we can best fulfil the increased need of our customers. Freely configurable, this new industrial PC unites proven technology with efficient innovations and offers high performance, stable architecture at an attractive price,” explains Thomas Schwartz, product manager at Advantech-DLoG.
