The Pinewood Studios Group is synonymous worldwide for its contribution to the film and television industries. With a full programme of productions this year they realised that it was necessary to rent additional space and they chose Spaciotempo UK Ltd to supply them with 13 temporary buildings.
The buildings, supplied from stock, range in size from 300 sq mtrs to 1175 sq mtrs and are being used for a variety of applications, including prop and costume storage, special effects preparation and even a garage facility to house specialist vehicles which are being used on the set of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus, the prequel to Alien. A specialist flooring system was installed within this building to withstand the weight of the vehicles.

Expanding Retail Giant Appoints Spaciotempo to Provide a Giant Temporary Warehouse
Sports Direct is one of the UK’s largest sports retailer; with over 400 stores that sell a wide range of sports and leisure equipment, clothing and footwear. Sports Direct own a variety of internationally recognized sport, fashion and lifestyle brands including Dunlop, Slazenger and No Fear.
During their main warehouse extension this autumn Sports Direct called upon leading temporary building supplier Spaciotempo to provide over 2200sqm of warehousing at their UK head office and distribution centre located near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
Sports Direct needed the temporary buildings to be installed quickly, in advance of the busy Christmas retail period. In little over 2 weeks the Spaciotempo temporary warehouses were installed and open for use, complete with heating and racking. The buildings will be in use for at least 12 months and will enable Sports Direct’s huge distribution operation to continue on-site, uninterrupted thanks to Spaciotempo’s rapid response.
The Reds source players tunnel from Spaciotempo
The finishing touches to pitch works over the summer at Manchester United’s stadium has included the installation of a brand new, super size players’ tunnel which was supplied and installed by Spaciotempo UK Ltd.
Finished in the iconic red of the Club and matching the signage and seating throughout the ground, the Manchester United tunnel is made up of two sections. The first part, which is 15mtrs long, is on wheels, whilst the second has been designed as a cantilevered section to accommodate a rise in ground level to pitch height. At just 2mtrs long, this provides an extension to the main tunnel to give extra protection for players leaving the field.
A new quick release fixing system was fitted by the Spaciotempo team to satisfy Health and Safety requirements at the Club. The stadium’s tunnel aperture provides the only access for a fire engine in case of emergency so the quick release system will enable Spaciotempo’s retractable tunnel to be removed from the access point to accommodate emergency vehicles as well as the cranes and heavy vehicles that are required for when the stadium is used for concerts etc. Gordon Shields, the Project Manager at the Old Trafford ground has been working with the team at Spaciotempo for a number of months and is very pleased with the solution provided.
