New vehicle loading technology
The company has recently launched a new telescopic boom loader which is both robust and highly functional. Controlled by the push of a button at the front end it extends to 18m long (6m closed) giving access right inside a 40’ container. It features hydraulic ‘lift and lower’ technology to allow the operator to easily adjust the boom to the most usable height and length as loading or unloading progresses.
The halogen lighting at the boom end illuminates the inside of a container and in combination with the electrically operated cut-out bar makes the working environment safer.
CI Logistics manufactures a complete range of optional accessories for this boom loader including a high level chassis and infeed belt for use when there is no dedicated loading dock. A powered traversing chassis for movement between loading doors is also available together with product sensors/parcel counters.
The company has recently sold one of these new boom loaders to fashion retail giant, M & Co. Installed at one of the unloading bays in the company’s extensive distribution centre in Glasgow, it replaced an old boom and has already proved its worth by helping to speed up container unloading by 10%.
