High speed curtain doors developed specifically for conveyor systems are yet another use for this highly reliable product from Hormann. The UPVC V3009 Conveyor door is designed to operate in conjunction with automated conveyor systems through a very high number of cycles per day. Used to partitioning sections the conveyor door helps with temperature control and the reduction of noise and drafts. With energy efficiency a key operational objective across many industries the use of high speed doors to partition and protect is leading to an increase in the uses they are put too and a subsequent increase in sales.

The ongoing development of specific solutions has lead to an extensive range being readily available to suit most needs. There are options specifically for clean rooms in the pharmaceutical industry, wet rooms in the food processing industry and insulated doors for cold stores. There is even an ATEX door option when the fast action door is required to work in potentially explosive environments.

The key to these doors success is reliability and longevity, both key attributes that Hörmann are recognised for. As with all Hörmann industrial products technical backup and design form a strong element of the package.

Recent examples of bespoke solutions developed by Hörmann include, sound deadening for an industrial wood planer, 5 metre high fire station that are fully open within 6 seconds and the development of the high speed spiral door.

To minimise noise pollution from their industrial planer Chapmans Animal Bedding called in Cooks of Norwich to provide a solution that would also allow easy access for the logs to be loaded into their planer. In consultation with Hörmann Cooks recommended Hörmann’s V6020 high speed curtain doors with a transparent curtain. The choice of a transparent curtain was not, as it usually is, for better visibility but for increased sound deadening as this material is 30% thicker than the fabric normally used in this type of door.

At London City airport all four fire station doors are required to be fully open within 15 seconds. Hörmann high speed curtain doors can meet this operational requirement even in the event of power failure. In normal operation all four doors can be opened within 6 seconds at the touch of one button.

For Asda the high speed spiral door was developed to replace the traditional two door solution of a sectional outer door for security and a high speed curtain for ease of access during loading and unloading. Independent consultants advised Asda that the energy saved in this application would pay for the new doors within 2 years.

These examples show that whatever the application Hörmann has the ability to provide the reliability functionality and cost effectiveness you need.
