The Food & Drink Logistics Show, now in its second year, is a unique event where a wide range of suppliers, all of whom truly understand the intricacies of the food and drink supply chain, will be showcasing the latest products and services to help visitors drive their businesses forward.
Taking place 27 February – 1 March at Birmingham’s NEC, there will be a packed programme of events on The Centre Stage where big name speakers will be sharing their expertise. Key names to look out for include Mark Rowlatt, Supply Chain Director, Tate & Lyle, Keith Newton, Customer Logistics Director, Cadbury and Trevor Ashworth, Director Food & Logistics, Co-Operative Retail Group. Visitors will also be able to learn how the food industry can save £1bn by improving product data from standards specialists, GS1.
There’s also the Advice Surgery, run by OPS Logistics Consultancy, where free one-to-one advice on the issues that really matter to your business will be on offer. Plus there’s the UKWA Drop-in Clinic, which will focus on IT systems, customs issues and energy efficiency. UKWA will also be showcasing their members in their own trade pavilion at the show and new for 2011, there will also be an AMHSA Pavilion focused on automation within this fast moving sector.
And speaking of fast moving, there’s also The Showroom where visitors can see the latest innovations in commercial vehicles in action!
If a break from the floor is needed, visitors can try something a little different, by visiting The Fresh Connection, in association with SCALA Consulting. This absorbing and highly competitive supply chain game earned plaudits from last year’s participants who included Cadbury, and visitors can try a bite-sized version on The Centre Stage at the Show.
FDLS is supported by industry bodies representing the entire sector including AMHSA, CILT(UK), FDSF, GS1 and UKWA.
