RTITB and SUMO GLOVE launched the highly anticipated Lift Truck Operator of the Year Competition at the industry renowned IMHX today, the material handling exhibition which is held every 3 years and attracts thousands of visitors has been a huge success so far for RTITB and the competition launch has received an exceptional response.

The 2011 event is open to any counterbalance operators currently registered on the RTITB National Operator Registration Scheme (NORS).

Entrants will firstly have to undertake an online hazard perception and theory test. This first stage takes place from Jan 1st until Feb 11th 2011 at www.rtitb.co.uk/fltcompetition

The National Finals will then take place in Northern England, Southern England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, after which the top scorers from each region will receive some great prizes and be invited to the Grand Final.

The Grand Final will be held at RTITB headquarters’ in Telford with the champion winning a brand new car, second prize will be a luxury holiday worth £2,500 and 3rd prize is £1000 worth of shopping vouchers. A gala dinner and awards show will be held on the evening of the grand final at Q Hotels, Telford Golf and Spa. The winner will be announced by Jane Willis, Director of HSE’s Cross-cutting Interventions Directorate.
