Meachers Global Logistics, one of the UK’s leading independent providers of logistics services has announced the purchase of 20 new trailers at a price tag of almost £500,000.
The significant investment by the Southampton based business, will provide the Company with capacity to move 250,000 tonnes of freight per year by road. Meachers Global Logistics operates a modern substantial fleet of over 70 vehicles. The Company now has access to a comprehensive fleet of modern trailers.
The purchase follows Meachers Global Logistics recently announcing two high profile contracts. In July this year it entered into an agreement with Red Funnel Distribution, to support the company with its UK collections. The Company also recently announced signing a trunking deal with international business-to-business express delivery provider TNT to trunk freight overnight from TNT’s regional facility in Southampton to its national sorting hub based in the Midlands.
Commenting on the acquisition, Gary Whittle, Meachers Global Logistics, Commercial Director said: “The acquisition programme for new trailers comes at a time when Meachers Global Logistics has announced a series of significant new contracts and has experienced a strong period of growth.
