After winning the MMH award in the section price-performance ratio, Clark is again launching a forklift at a competitive price and optimised for power, efficiency and sturdiness with the C40-55. The new diesel and LPG forklift of the premium series Gen2 (load capacity 4 – 5.5 tonnes) is used in warehousing, loading and unloading trucks, production, recycling etc. and celebrates a world premiere in 2010.
C40-55 – More than “Built to last”
The C40-55 has been developed under the premises of reliability, durability, comfort power and energy efficiency, enabling users to configure the equipment variably to suit their application. Egon Strehl, Managing Director, Clark Europe GmbH: “full attention was also paid to the critical factors of low operating and maintenance costs, a perfect price-performance ratio and safety at work.” The heart of the diesel variant is a Kubota V3800T engine (92 HP / 2400 RPM). In the LPG-propelled C40-55, the GM V6 (4.3 litres displacement) also ensures an extremely high level of power.
Sophisticated, practical, comfortable
The robust chassis made from thick steel ensures the best protection of all important components. Maintenance free wet disc brakes are standard equipment, while the sophisticated cooling system protecting the engine against overheating offers investment certainty. The air intake mounted in the rear left column of the driver’s overhead guard ensures only the cleanest air is drawn into the engine.Clark has designed a practical, spacious drivers compartment for the C40-55 without disturbing vital elements. The driver can access all controls and hydraulic levers easily and comfortably. The tilting steering column ergonimically adds to this efficient design.
Equipment features
Standard, Hi-Lo and Triplex uprights up to 7 metres height are available. SE tyres are available as an option. Clark offers upright cushioning as standard for both lifting and lowering. The low design of the front cowl and the new arrangement of the hydraulic hoses enable excellent visibilty of the fork tips and load.
