What’s the most exciting thing about your job?
I get the opportunity to speak with people from all areas of commerce from blue collar to white from factory floor to ivory tower, I love the wide and ranging people I meet and the different circumstances. I love to see a project from the initial phone call or meeting to the finished product. Keeping the customer happy when they become paying clients is important and I love positive feedback from customers!
Who inspired you most in your career?
In a sales position you need inspiration from lots of areas of your life, you are surrounded by inspirational people in business and in your private life you just have to know how to draw that inspiration and filter all the positives you can, having a strong family background, exceptional friends a love of sport and a supportive team at work means I am always positive and inspired.
If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?
I would be the software system that saves the company a fortune and gives a quick return on investment.
What brought you to this industry?
I saw an exciting product and a gap in the market, we went to work calling everyone we could find with a need and built a product into a very successful business.
If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?
We’ve had a lot of success in a short space of time, if I had to do it again I would look at where my marketing could have been better, we’ve spent all our efforts on push sales whereas pull sales seems a lot more appealing.
What’s your favourite pastime?
Has to be football, I love to play, watch, read about it I admit I am a little obsessed!
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you?
Yeah right… We’ve all done things we are not proud of!
Do you have any hidden talents?
I think my team mate think I hide my football talents quite well.
Who would be your favourite party guests?
Depends what kind of party it is – dinner party – probably Stephen Fry – Bachelor party – probably Megan Fox – Birthday Party – my best Friend.
What is the greatest luxury in your life?
I love a cold beer on a summers day in a beer garden – Living in Scotland it does not happen too often though.
If you won the Lottery, what would you do?
I would make sure that everyone I can help would be more comfortable in life.
Who or what makes you laugh?
Franky Boyle is very funny.
Do you have any secret ambitions?
I want to move into marketing at some point and I also fancy a crack at the states.
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
Manilla – I play in a football tournament there once a year.

The Verve – Urban Hymns if you haven’t heard it listen to it if you haven’t heard it for a while listen to it again, if you are listening to it now stick it on repeat!
What’s your favourite movies?
Love all the Steven Speilberg films and the big action dramas.
What’s your favourite book?
I keep up to date with ecological issues and read a lot on human and physical geography.
Who or what do you detest the most?
I saw a girl on an MTV program recently called “Sweet 16” she was wanting a $1m birthday party and was so far removed to say that she had “earned it”it made my blood boil.
What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?
This industry is a barometer for the UK and European economy, if you want to be in an industry that is known as the life blood of industry then this is the place to be, aim to position yourself where you can be of most benefit and offer the biggest ROI’s and then work tirelessly to make that happen. Set achievable goals and do everything necessary to get there.
