Eezehaul, a leading South East regional carrier has just gone live with a new system from warehouse performance specialist DeltaWMS to support its planned third party logistics (3PL) growth. The ‘DeltaWMS:Third Party’ solution, which includes a radio frequency (RF) warehouse environment and handheld scanning equipment will drive Eezehaul’s new 80,000 square foot, 5,000 pallet-location 3PL operation near Gatwick, integrated with the company’s existing transport system. Eezehaul is also considering diversification into bonded warehousing where Delta is the UK warehouse performance systems market leader.
“We asked for and incorporated feedback from our own 3PL customers into the warehousing IT brief that we took to the market” explains Eezehaul Managing Director Mark Duggan. “We have different, customised arrangements for the same activity across multiple 3PL clients. It is very important to us that our warehousing software can manage a full range of activity-based charging. Delta’s sophisticated, activity-based-costing facility will allow us to do just that, profitably. The Delta system is finely tuned for third party operations. It also has some very useful KPI dashboard technology that will help us optimise our overall warehouse performance.”
“I think the Delta package represents good value. It does what it says on the tin” Duggan concludes.
“The warehousing operation is a core business process that can be continuously improved” says Delta Operations Director Lance Bennett. “Eezehaul is a smart, ambitious company and we look forward to supporting their growth, now and in the future”.
The DeltaWMS:Third Party system
The DeltaWMS: Third Party Logistics (3PL) warehouse performance system has been developed to meet the competitive and complex multiple-customer, just-in-time service needs of the TPL market with customer-by-customer stock accounting, labelling, inventory management and online customer reporting. The system can also be integrated with the external TPL customer’s IT environment.
DeltaWMS:Third Party is suitable for shared user and sole-contract environments; control parameters allow the user to configure the system for each contract customer. Delta’s tailored, contract-specific system services include label design, client EDI interfaces and stationery.
For paper-based put-away and picking, barcode scanning or fully functional radio frequency (RF) warehouse environments DeltaWMS systems improves stock location accuracy, reduces labour costs and enhances customer service levels. DeltaWMS enables full stock traceability – from point of receipt to point of dispatch – for every item that moves through the warehouse.
The unique DeltaWMS graphical map manages warehouse inventory – interactively and in real-time – to optimise productivity; delivering measurable supply chain improvements.
Voice, barcode scanning, radio frequency, RFID and other technologies can be used to extend the power and reach of DeltaWMS systems.
