What’s the most exciting thing about your job?
Meeting new people and securing them new career opportunities.
Who inspired you most in your career?
Willie Rhodes, the Work Study Manager at Grattan Warehouses. He taught common sense and practicability.
If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?
A fast moving SKU. Always in demand and never boring.
What brought you to this industry?
A career move from selling 40 years ago.
If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?
Nothing.
What’s your favourite pastime?
Socialising with friends in the local.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you?
When I was much younger, drying up giving a presentation to the company sales reps, all of whom were female and had no interest in the subject I had been asked to present.
Do you have any hidden talents?
Yes but they will remain hidden.
Who would be your favourite party guests?
Isambard Brunel.
What is the greatest luxury in your life?
Freedom.
If you won the Lottery, what would you do?
Spend it and make sure my children and families were secure.
Who or what makes you laugh?
Friends and bizzare situations.
Do you have any secret ambitions?
Yes but if I told you they wouldn’t be secret.
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
Dordogne.

Eric Clapton, Me & Mr Johnson.
What’s your favourite movies?
To Kill a Mocking Bird, Gregory Peck.
What’s your favourite book?
1066 and all that.
Who or what do you detest the most?
Rudeness and violence.
What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?
Think before you leap. It can be very demanding but also very rewarding.
