encore-driver-imageThe Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) is a new qualification for lorry, bus and coach drivers who drive professionally throughout the UK. It has been designed to improve road safety and to have better qualified drivers to help reduce road casualties. The Driver CPC should also bring an improved professional and positive image to the profession, attracting more people to drive for a living

Any drivers passing either their LGV or PCV licence after the 10th of September 2010 will be required to pass their CPC qualification before they are legal to drive on the road, thereafter drivers are required to complete 35 hours of training every 5 years.

The introduction of the CPC has left many haulage firms with an additional cost to find in an industry already pressurised by fuel taxation rises, legislation changes and increasing operational costs.

Recognising this Encore Driving have joined forces with an award winning international training academy to offer our clients and drivers free CPC training, after a qualifying period.

Courses including Driving Hours & Liabilities, Customers Service in a Driving Role and Fuel Efficient Driving are just some of the modules Encore are offering which add value & credibility to a driving workforce.

Kim Blackburn, Encore’s Senior Divisional Manager, states “The driver CPC is intended to raise the standard of drivers throughout the UK.”

“Many agencies are not taking a proactive responsibility for this training and are charging their drivers. Our scheme rewards both drivers and clients for their loyalty with training which will improve driver quality and reduce operator cost.”

Encore Driving specialise in the supply of all classes of temporary and permanent drivers throughout the Midlands. Encore Personnel Services have been officially acknowledged as one of the fastest growing recruiters in the industry and were recently awarded the Best Recruitment Company to Work for (Recruitment International) 2009.
