hytera-pd785As one of the world’s leading professional two-way radio solutions suppliers and China’s leading communications company, Hytera (formerly known as HYT) is getting set to launch its new digital product offering in Europe. The company will unveil its very latest DMR and TETRA series of digital two-way radios and solutions in Munich, Germany on 4th May, 2010.

The future of Two-Way Radio

The globally recognised Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) standard, developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) is widely backed by major manufacturers of digital professional two-way radio communication equipment. The DMR Tier 2 standard is designed to operate within the existing 12.5 kHz channel spacing used in licensed land mobile frequency bands and to meet future regulatory requirements for 6.25 kHz channel equivalence. DMR’s primary goal is to specify affordable digital systems with low complexity and the standard provides voice, data and other supplementary services. It also helps alleviate some of the challenges posed by the alternative analog standard by giving end-users increased capacity, better audio quality, longer battery life, more efficient communications, improved productivity and cost savings.

DMR’s applications

Today’s DMR market can be divided into three tiers: commercial, public safety and mission-critical professional. Different products and standards address different tiers. Applications commonly used within the commercial sector for example include trunking, a concept by which a communications system can provide network access to many clients by sharing a set of lines or frequencies instead of providing them individually. However, DMR crosses all three tiers, including public safety, private security, government, education, campus and hospitality, manufacturing and construction, utilities, transport, oil and gas.

Why choose Hytera?

Hytera’s products combine the best in two-way radio functionality with digital technology to deliver increased capacity and spectrum efficiency, integrated data communications and enhanced voice communications.
